Working Group Energy Ministry of Russia to monitor the preparation and passage of the autumn-winter period considered issues of development plan for additional arrangements for the safe passage of the upcoming cold seasonin the unified energy system of Siberia in the light of the failure capacity of the Sayan-Shushenskaya GES.
According to Deputy Energy Minister Vyacheslav Sinyugin, action plan should encompass the whole range of issues for the preparation of the power industry of Siberia for the autumn-winter peak loads, to ensure reliable electricity supply to consumers in the region and overcome the possible crisis situations in the grid.
These activities will include issues of fuel supply, additional repairs to improve the reliability of the existing network and generating equipment, interaction with customers and other organizational measures. Plan additional activities on preparation for the cold season 2009/2010, the Energy Ministry is planning to adopt as soon as possible and keep it running on a special control.
The Working Group also considered the issue of improving the training of emergency repair teams energy companies in Siberia in order to improve efficiency of their work in emergency situations. Also, participants emphasized the need for and the development schedule of training exercises within the company and at the interagency level.
In addition, under government orders, together with the Ministry of Energy, Rostekhnadzor, OAO UES, OAO UES FGC, OAO IDC Holding, and other line departments will organize exceptional check availability of thermal power plants in Siberia to the passage of PTD, given the need to compensate the retired emergency powers Sayano-Shushenskaya power plant in the region.
