In the course of negotiations Sergei Shmatko with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the Iraqi side confirmed its interest in developing bilateral cooperation on a wide range of issues.
Following negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on cooperation in the establishment of TPP Yousef and TPP Dibis, as well as the construction of gas pipeline to Kirkuk - Okra and 2 nd strategic pipeline.
We have received a clear signal to the Iraqi government that Russia's oil companies - welcome in Iraq, - said Sergei Shmatko, adding that during meetings with the Iraqi government decided to establish a special working group on prepare a joint report on the possibilities of cooperation between Russia and Iraq's oil sector.
Turning to the issues of cooperation in the electricity sector, Energy Minister noted that Russia's companies have good opportunities for rehabilitation and expansion of cooperation with Iraq.
