As reported, the law “On state regulation of production and sale of sugar” was adopted by the Parliament of Ukraine in 1999. It involves the establishment of minimum prices for sugar, as well as quotas for sugar production.
Ukraine beet harvest in 2009 produced, according to preliminary data, 1.27 million tons of sugar, which is 19,3% less than in the previous season, sugar-making. According to the association “Ukrtsukor, Ukraine consumes each month about 130 thousand tons of sugar.
