Verkhovna Rada adopted in the whole three laws aimed at combating corruption. Principal among the Consideration in Sessional Conference of documents - the draft law On the foundations of preventing and combating corruption. All three bills were developed by the Ministry of Justice submitted to the Rada and the President Viktor Yushchenko in 2006. 12 December 2006 were adopted on first reading by the members of the Verkhovna Rada of V convocation. Since then, however, Parliament refused to return to them. The author of all three documents on the website is the people's deputy parliament Nikolai jig (the Party of Regions), who in 2006 headed the committee on combating organized crime and corruption. Meanwhile, yesterday, no member of the Party of Regions faction does not vote for them.
Law on Preventing and Countering Corruption provides for measures to prevent it, the types of liability for corruption offenses, the measures for the elimination of corrupt practices.
For example, Art. 5 prohibits officials and individuals who are equal to them, to take personal gifts valued at more than one tax social security benefits (in 2009 - 302.5 UAH).
in accordance with Art. 6 senior state officials and civil servants have no right to be subordinate to and be subject to close persons (in addition to spouses, to include those with whom the official live together and maintain a farm). Art. 13 of the Act provides that the Ministry of Justice carries out anti-corruption expertise of draft laws and regulations, which include the draft laws, acts of the President and Cabinet. And Art. 18 provides that the commission of corrupt practices a person performing functions of the state, and related bear criminal, administrative, civil or disciplinary liability.

Law on the Fundamentals of preventing and combating corruption will enter into force six months after its publication, automatically replacing the law On combating corruption, which is currently in force.
