More than 100 workers at Ford in Russia, disagreed with the transition to 4-day week, may be dismissed

disagreed with the transition from Tuesday to work part-time, four-day, working week expressed, according to preliminary data, 127 employees of CJSC Ford Motor Company (CMF, Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad Region), told Interfax the director of Public Relations Company Ford Russia Ekaterina Kulinenko.

This means that these 127 people could be dismissed. However, their disagreement with the transition to a shorter working week should be formalized in writing, which is expected before the end of the day Tuesday.

Kulinenko noted that in accordance with the LC RF, fire an employee will be paid an indemnity in the amount of their monthly average wage in case of dismissal, as well as parts will be paid their average monthly earnings to a subsequent job, but no more than two months.

Ford reduces the volume of cars produced at its production in the light of Russia's current forecast for the year 2009. According to specialists of the company,in 2009 Russia will be only sold about 1.4 million new vehicles, a decrease of the market in more than two times compared with last year , - added Kulinenko.

CMF repeatedly in the course of 2009 stopped production, to adjust the volume production of the vehicles in the light of falling demand.

Currently the plant employs about 2.5 thousand people. Plant with the September 22, 2009 passed with a 3-replacement for 2-shift operation.
