Poland for the simplification of visa regime in the Eastern Partnership

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland supports the liberalization of visa regime with EU countries - participants of the European program Eastern Partnership with a view to completely abolishing visas for citizens of those States.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, this adviser said Polish Foreign Minister, Head of Department of Foreign Affairs 'Eastern Partnership' Jaroslav Dziedzice in Warsaw, speaking at a conference dedicated to cooperation between Poland and Germany in the program.

He also noted that the Poles are supporting political and economic integration of states - participants of Eastern Partnership with the EU and European integration are willing to share their own experiences, including in respect of the necessary reforms.

According Dziedzice, Poland hopes to sign the member countries of the program of its Association Agreement with the EU and free trade zone, which will enhance cooperation between the EU and these countries.

Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that Poland is in the long term plans to seek to increase the budget of this program.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 7 in Prague hosted the founding summit of the Eastern Partnership - a new EU policy aimed at strengthening relations with six countries - the EU eastern neighbors: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

Eastern Partnership - a Polish-Swedish initiative aimed at improving relations with the EU. In December 2008 the European Council agreed in principle to begin this project.

March 20 leaders of the European Union adopted a program of the Eastern Partnership, highlighting its implementation in 2009-2013. 600 million euros.
